Michi-no-Eki Akaigawa γ‚γ‹γ„γŒγ‚

Halfway between the Sapporo area and Niseko on Route 393, the Maple Kaido, Akaigawa occupies a historic transport point where a government relay station stood from the Meiji era into early Showa. Its farm stand sells produce grown in the caldera basin's sharp temperature swings, and the drive onward toward Niseko opens up views of Mt. Yotei; parking is for 57 cars and 10 large vehicles.
